Training opportunities
As part of the UK GIBA Network+, we are delivering a comprehensive training programme designed to equip our members with the skills, tools, and methods essential for advancing GIBA research.
Our training programme aims to foster future interdisciplinary collaboration and enhance communication across the network. This programme is centred around four key areas: theoretical concepts, data analysis, experimental techniques, and career development. We expect the training courses will take a variety of formats (in-person, hybrid, webinars, and hackathons) to enable wide participation across the network.
We will announce further training opportunities within the Network in due course.
GIBA Essential Concepts and Techniques
In spring 2026, we organised an online training session on essential concepts and techniques of the gut-immune-brain axis (GIBA).
This online training course took place across three morning sessions and covered fundamental concepts and research techniques related to the GIBA. Each session included two one-hour lectures, focused on one of the three axes: gut, immune, and brain. Invited lecturers will provided accessible overviews of their respective fields for those outside these domains. Topics included the gut microbiome, neurodegenerative disorders, behavioural studies using mouse models, and the enteric nervous system.
