Nutritional Psychiatry Special Interest Group (SIG) Research Day 2027

GIBA Network+ members are invited to join The Nutrition Society Nutritional Psychiatry Special Interest Group (SIG) for its Research Day, taking place on 23rd March 2027 at the University of Reading.

The event will bring together researchers and practitioners interested in the links between nutrition, the brain and mental health to share research, exchange ideas and develop new collaborations.

The programme will feature a keynote lecture by Professor Anne-Marie Minihane, research presentations and an interdisciplinary panel discussion. A dedicated networking session will provide further opportunities to connect with colleagues across the field.

Abstract submissions: We warmly encourage members to submit their work for oral, poster or Pecha Kucha presentations. We welcome abstracts across all areas of nutritional psychiatry, including:

  • Diet and mental health
  • Gut microbiome and the gut–brain axis
  • Nutritional neuroscience
  • Nutritional interventions
  • Psychobiotics
  • Sleep, cognition and nutrition
  • Neuroimaging and nutrition
  • Precision nutrition
  • Mechanistic, clinical, epidemiological and translational research

Early-career researchers (ECRs) and students are particularly encouraged to submit abstracts. Best and runner-up awards will be presented for each presentation format.

Registration: Registration is now open. Fees are as follows:

  • Nutrition Society members: £40
  • Non-members: £80

Places are limited to 100 delegates. Registration will close when capacity is reached or on 21st February 2027, whichever comes first, so we encourage you to register early.
